Welcome to the November edition of Classroom News! Each month during the school year, a teacher at HLS will share what’s going on in her classroom to highlight neat projects and activities students are doing. This month, let’s see what Miss Pope has to say about first and second grade:
We are having a great start to the school year. We have four first graders and four second graders this year! Everyone is already best friends and gets along well. We have been so busy learning and having fun! Check out some of the things we have been up to.
We had a fun fall field trip to Helgoths Pumpkin Patch in Grand Island.
We enjoyed going to the Stump’s house to learn about llamas!
We LOVE to read in first and second grade! We enjoy reading buddies with fifth and sixth grade on Thursday afternoons!
We had a great time walking around Hampton and learning about the community. We stopped by the garage shop, bank, post office, and hardware store.
Oct. 6-12 was Fire Prevention Week. The Hampton Fire Department helped us learn about fire safety. We really enjoyed exploring the vehicles and meeting the firefighters!
