“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

—2 Timothy 3:14–17

With these words, Paul reminds young Timothy of the godly teachings that his grandmother Lois and his mother, Eunice, instilled in Timothy from an early age. (2 Timothy 1:5) Following their example, Hampton Lutheran School has established the Grandmother/Mother Scholarship fund.

The scholarship fund was first established over 25 years ago by Mr. Thies, principal at HLS, because of the devotion to the school of an anonymous older woman.

Now it has become a blessing through so many other acts of service by devoted individuals. These devoted people are a blessing to many students.

The purpose of the Grandmother/Mother Scholarship fund is to help families provide a Christian education for their children, thus aiding them in bringing their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The scholarship fund provides financial assistance for tuition. Scholarships will be awarded based on need, up to half of the cost of tuition.

God is so good to us! We thank God for the same teaching of His Word to Lois and Eunice, to Timothy, and now to us.

If we could help your family with a scholarship to attend HLS, please fill out the form below and return it to Hampton Lutheran School by July 26.
