Hampton Lutheran School has a new secretary. Monday, April 15 was Dana Kort’s first full day as school secretary after a few weeks of training for the position. We welcome Dana into our HLS staff and thank our previous secretary, Esther Edelman, for her years of service and hard work at the school.
We asked Dana some questions so you can get to know the newest member of our HLS staff.
What were you doing before you joined HLS?
For the last seven years, I have been the secretary at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton and am currently still there. I am an independent distributor of Young Living Essential Oils and have also been a stay-at-home mom for the last 14 years. Before that, I served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years.
Tell us a little about your family!
I have been married to Toby for 14 years. My daughter, Kylee, is 13 and is a seventh grader at Aurora Middle School, and my son, Kolton, is five years old and is a kindergartener at Aurora Elementary.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” —Luke 1:37
Where do you go to church?
We are members at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora. Kylee is in confirmation there. I am a member of LWML at St. Peter.
What some of your favorite hobbies and things to read and watch?
I have a love of Netflix, and my favorite song is “Bless the Lord O My Soul.” I enjoy my Nook and have read almost everything by Debbie Macomber. I love the lake and I love trying new foods!
