Lunch Program Changes for 2017-2018

lunch program changes

Here are some lunch program changes from Ms. Deb’s kitchen that you will need to be aware of:

1. Salad bar

Salad bar will be served on Friday this year. There will always be a meat entree with the salad bar (i.e. taco salad bar), and the meat entree is subject to change.

2. Substitutions

A peanut butter and jelly sandwich or cheese sandwich will be offered if your child is allergic to an entree or forgets his or her lunch. The decision to substitute will be at the discretion of Deb or your child’s teacher unless you call the school and request the substitute for your child before 10 AM.

3. Food allergies

When your child says he or she is allergic to a food item, a note will be sent to confirm the allergy. You will need to verify what your child’s reaction to the food could be. If your child is lactose intolerant, Deb will need to know which milk products are safe for your child to consume and which products we need to avoid serving to him or her.

4. Donations

Hampton Lutheran continues to accept fresh fruit and vegetable donations. As of this year, we are also able to accept donations of meat. The meat must have a USDA-approved stamp on the packaging.

If you have questions about the lunch program changes, you are always welcome to contact the school and speak with Mrs. Carnoali, Ms. Esther, or Ms. Deb.
